Jamboree on the Trail 2005

Scouts Walking Together World Wide

On Saturday, May 14, 2005, members of the Scouting family around the world will be participating in the eight annual Jamboree On The Trail (JOTT) by taking to the trails in their own countries.  Join Us!

- IT IS FOR ALL SCOUTS -

Everyone can participate in the JOTT because there is no minimum distance to hike. Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos could visit a local nature trail or help clean-up along a walk path.  A Scout Troop might hike up a trail while working on merit badge requirements.  Venture Scouts might make a Service project out of restoring or maintaining a trail.  Members of the Girls Scouts may also participate on May 14th, as JOTT is a truly Scouting-wide opportunity.  Want everyone to be involved in this project of worldwide unity with everyone hiking in the same direction:  towards a better future through Scouting.

Again for JOTT 2005 the patch has been designed with youth input and will be available for pre-order.

The first JOTT was organized by Canadian Scouters and held in 1998.  Last year an estimated 32,000 members of the World Brotherhood of Scouting in 15 countries participated in JOTT 2004 by taking to the trail in their own countries. To learn more about JOTT visit the web pages at:

http://jott.org

Please pre-order JOTT 2004 patches by April 30, 2005 (order form links on left).  That gets them to you in time for JOTT.  You can order patches after April 30th and even after May 14th, but please allow enough time for the order to be processed and have it mailed to you via the U.S. Post Office.

Plan long-term and join us on JOTT 2006.      It will be held worldwide on Saturday, May 13, 2006.

Yours in Scouting,

Joe
