Cub Scout Leader Training

Trained Cub Scout leaders provide a quality, fun-filled program for boys. When leaders understand the whys and hows of Cub Scouting, they are more effective in their roles. Trained leaders know how to use the available resources to provide an exciting and worthwhile program for the boys. Trained leaders also have confidence in carrying out their roles and responsibilities. As a result, Cub Scouts receive a program designed to achieve Scouting's aims of citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.

Cub Scout Leader Training consists of fast start  followed by New Leader Essentials which is about 90 minutes, Cub Scout Leader Specific Training for the position you hold which is about 2.5 hours. All leaders should take Youth Protection Training which is about 60 minutes.  New Leader Essentials and Youth Protection training are held at some Roundtables and at various times. Youth protection training is also available on-line.

Before the Pack goes on outdoor activities, at least one person needs BALOO( Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) which is about a day and Youth Protection Training which is about 60 minutes.
